Youth soccer is a game where the children participate and have fun. Unfortunately, inappropriate behavior among spectators is becoming more prevalent. A unique feature of soccer is that the coaches are responsible for the behavior of his/her team's spectators. Therefore, in an attempt to make the coach’s job easier, the following is expected of all parents/guardians and other spectators.
- Treat the players, coaches, trainers, and spectators with respect, both your team and the opposing team.
- Treat the referees with respect. The Laws of Soccer prohibit dissent of any type, by word or action.
- Encourage your team (cheer) in a positive manner. Negative comments towards any player, coach, referee, trainer, or spectator will not be tolerated.
- Do not try to coach your child during a game. That is the coach’s job.
- I understand that it is the coach's decision as to how much playing time a player will receive, and to what positions a player will be assigned to play.
- If I must talk to the coach about an apparent problem, I will do so in a quiet manner, without any children present, and at an appropriate time.
- I understand that I may be asked to leave the premises if I violate this Code of Conduct and I will comply.
- I understand that if I persist in violating this Code of Conduct, I will be banned from future games.
- I understand that it is my responsibility to inform any other relatives or guests attending games that this Code of Conduct applies to all spectators.
